The “75 Incident” refers to the riots that took place in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China on 5th July 2009. It was reported that hundreds of people died, and thousands were arrested or went missing as a result of the incident. Uighurs have long faced discrimination, oppression, and human rights abuses in China, and this event has become a symbol of their struggle for justice and freedom.
Uighurs and their supporters held Uighur flags, banners, and placards, chanting slogans, demanding an end to the discrimination and persecution of Uighurs by the Chinese government and calling for an end to the policy of cultural genocide. The organizers of the event delivered speeches, condemning the actions of the Chinese government and urging the international community to pay attention to the human rights situation of Uighurs. This protest was not only a commemoration of the victims of the “75 Incident” but also a call to the international community to focus on the persecution of Uighurs by the Chinese government. Members of the UK Headquarters of China Democracy Party held slogans such as “CCP IS A LIAR,” expressing strong dissatisfaction with the widespread human rights violations under the authoritarian rule of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Participants hoped that through this protest, they could raise awareness of the deteriorating human rights crisis to people around the world.
