此次活动有民主党人士参与。参与者通过手举中英文标语、展示宣传资料以及与路人面对面交流等方式，呼吁公众关注中国大陆、香港等地区的自由、人权和民主问题。现场展示的标语包括“The CCP ≠ Chinese People”和“Against CCP and Communism”。

Voices on the Streets of Glasgow: Democracy Activists and Like-Minded Friends Jointly Call for Recognition That the Chinese Communist Party Does Not Equal the Chinese People
Glasgow, 22 August 2026 — A group of like-minded friends held a street outreach and public engagement event on Buchanan Street, one of the best-known streets in central Glasgow, Scotland. Through peaceful and rational means, they introduced local residents and passers-by to different voices from Chinese society and expressed concern for freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
Members of the China Democracy Party took part in the event. Participants held bilingual Chinese and English placards, displayed informational materials, and spoke face-to-face with members of the public, calling attention to issues concerning freedom, human rights and democracy in mainland China, Hong Kong and other regions. Slogans displayed at the event included “The CCP ≠ Chinese People” and “Against CCP and Communism”.

During the event, some local residents voluntarily stopped to learn more, read the informational materials, and discuss issues including Chinese society, freedom of expression, and the different political views held by overseas Chinese communities.
Participants stated that the event was directed against authoritarianism and oppression, not against the Chinese people. They said they hoped to express their views in a peaceful and open manner and called on British society and the wider international community to continue paying attention to human rights, democracy and freedom in China, while supporting the right of Chinese people to express their demands peacefully and rationally.

The Chinese Communist Party does not equal China, nor does the Chinese Communist Party represent all Chinese people.
Different political views and voices should be respected and heard. Like people in every other country, Chinese people have the right to pursue freedom, dignity, peace and a better life.
The event was conducted in a peaceful and rational atmosphere. Participants stated that they would continue engaging with people from all sectors of society in a peaceful and rational manner, helping more people understand the diverse voices emerging from Chinese civil society.
